AG Suthers joins in fight against GM - Business First of Columbus:

“GM should not force its dealerships here in Colorado to unfairly bear the burden for its past Suthers said ina statement. The attorney general filed an objection jointly infederalp court, saying that GM is unfairly forcingf dealerships to either modify their agreements or risk beingy closed. Suthers also filesd an objection separately, citing a new Colorado law prohibiting auto manufacturerxs from threatening to cancel or not renew existingg dealership agreements if a dealership does not agree with the Sutherssaid he’s also concerned that the sale ordee GM seeks in its bankruptcy case couls undercut the state’s regulation of manufacturer-dealer relationshipw and upset the playing field in the “The latitude the motion would give Generap Motors to modify its dealershio agreements potentially affects thousands of jobs in Colorado, Suthers said.
“I is crucial that GM not be allowe to unfairly force dealershipsz to swallowburdensome agreements.” Fifteen GM dealerships in Colorad have been informed they will be dropped this according to a list releaser by the House Energh and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations earlie this month. The list was based on informationj providedby GM. The names of the dealerships have not beenpubliclgy revealed.
