NCR moving HQ to Duluth, to bring 2,100-plus jobs to Georgia - Portland Business Journal:

Georgiw Gov. Sonny Perdue is expected to make the officialannouncement Tuesday. NCR CEO Bill Nuti and Ohio Gov. Ted Stricklande spoke by phone Monday and Nuti told Strickland the company has been looking at Georgia forsome time, an official in the Ohio governor’se office told Atlanta Business Chronicle sister publication Daytonb Business Journal (DBJ).

NCR (NYSE: NCR), which makes automatef teller machines (ATMs) and retail self-checkouts, will be Georgia’sz 14th Fortune 500 company and the secondin Duluth. Last (NYSE: ABG) announced the relocation of its headquartersa to Duluth fromNew York. NCR, whichj employs 20,000 employees globally, ranked 446 on the 2009 Fortunr500 list. The company, whicb did not return calls Monday, reported a $228 millionm profit on $5.3 billioh in revenue last year.
Last fall, NCR said it woulc move its Worldwide Customer Services headquarters to metro investing $15 million and creating more than 900 jobs in Peachtrer City and Duluth. In NCR said it would co-locate an NCR Learning Center and its Customefr Care Center hub for the Americas region withthe company’s existing Globak Service Materials operation in Peachtree City. NCR, which occupiezs about 150,000 square feet at its Satellite Boulevarrd operationin Duluth, will lease an additionall 100,000 to 200,000 square feet at that facility. The corporate jobs will pay on averageabout $70,009 annually.
The manufacturing distribution operation will be in two buildingsd and willmake ATMs, accordinf to the source. Employees at that facility will make on averag eabout $43,000 annually, the source said. NCR receivedx tax incentives from both Gwinnetrt andColumbus governments, the source declining to disclose detailsw about the state’s incentive While Dayton -- where NCR was founded in 1884 -- is the company’xs official headquarters, the city is not the centerd of the company’s influence.
Nuti, along with the company’ chief financial officer and othedsenior executives, maintain offices on an entirse floor of 7 World Trade Center in In March, NCR remove the language “world headquarters” from the sign at its Daytobn campus. Nuti will not be moving to Atlanta.
