Fujifilm Medical buys Morrisville's Empiric Systems - Triangle Business Journal:

Empiric has become a full subsidiarh of Fujifilm MedicalSystems USA, which is basef in Connecticut. Financial terms weren’t Empiric Systems makes software forradiology offices. The company, founded in 2001 by radiologyu professionals Mark Janas andPete Gratale, says it offers software that helps with every task in a radiologyu office – from handling imagees to billing customers. The company’s Web site says it’z been profitable since its inception and has nosignificantt debt, venture capital or otherwise. Accordintg to a statement, Fujifilm Medical Systemd has beenoffering Empiric’s technology as a reselle r since November 2007.
In a written statement, Fujifilm Vice President Bob Cookes says that the companies already have pusherd toward integrating theirsoftware – and that “wit h the acquisition we are now in a positiohn to deliver an even deepetr integration that will yield the complete imaging informatics solutionb that healthcare facilities are A Fujifilm representative wasn’t immediately available for comment. Fujifilnm Medical Systems is a subsidiaryof Japan’d (Nasdaq: FUJI).
