Wednesday’s ceremony at Boeing’s IDS headquarters in Berkeley included video presentations and remarks byBob Gower, vice presidentt of F/A/-18 programs at Boeing; Georged Roman, vice president of IDS government IDS President and Chief Executive Jim St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay; Rear Admiralp David Philman, director of air warfar for the ; and Air Marshapl Mark Binskin, chief of the Royapl AustralianAir Force. Hundreds of people, including Boeintg employees, suppliers and local economic developmenr officials, were on hand. Boeing IDS is the second-largest employere in the region and the state of with 16,000 workers. It posted revenue of $32.q1 billion last year.
The F/A-1 8 program involves 5,000 local Boeingy employees, 304 supplier companies in Missouriand Illinois, and providess the region with an estimated economicd impact of more than $1 billion.
