The Coral Gables-based privately held dermatologgy company said it will acquire all sharesof France-basedc ABR Invent and ABR Development through a definitive stoclk purchase agreement. "Stiefel Laboratories has been lookinb for the right dermapl filler to add to our aesthetix portfolio for quite some Stiefel Chairman and Chief Executive OfficerCharles W. Stiefel said in a news release. "After conducting due diligenced andextensive research, our team made an offer to ABR a company whose innovation, expertise and product portfolio will significantly strengthenn our position in the global aesthetics market.
" Atlea n dermal filler is currently sold in Franced and Italy, and Stiefel said distributiobn and manufacturing agreements for the product will remain in placer throughout Europe. All sales representatives formerly employed by ABR Developmeng will now become employees ofStiefekl Laboratories. Stiefel said it plans to launcb the dermal filler in partsdof Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbeabn over the next year and a half. The company said it will continud clinical development of Atlean dermalp filler in order to submit the product for approva l from the Food and Drug Administration and other regulatorh bodies aroundthe world.
Stiefel also expects to develoo other products from theABR portfolio.
